Cranmore Community Co-operative in their aim to support older persons in the community are presently taking grant applications for the Seniors Alert Alarm Scheme administered by the Co-op and managed by the Department of Environment, Community, and Local Government. The purpose of the scheme is to ensure that older people without sufficient means continue to live securely in their own home with confidence, independence and peace of mind. Funding will be available for the purchase & installation of personal monitored alarms. Qualifying persons must be over 65 years of age, of limited means of resources and living alone or with another qualified person. Installation of the equipment is covered by grant aid with a monitoring fee of €60 annually and can be paid via a Standing Order of €5.00 per month €15 per 3 months, €30 per 6 months depending what suits the persons needs. Assistance will be given with application forms and a demonstration arranged if required.
