Following a recent visit to IT Sligo Dr Tommy Cooke, Chairperson of POBAL, visited Cranmore Community Co-Operative Society Offices to receive an update on the work that Cranmore Community Co-op have been doing since it was set up three years ago.
Dr Cooke was impressed by the work which is being carried on in the area and the plans for the youth of the area. He told those present that ‘from little seeds like these bigger things grow’. The Youth events over the summer has engaged at least 30 young people in events such as fishing, football, computers, adventure trips, drama, art, cinema outings, etc. the youth are also closely involved in preparing for the Street Carnival which will take place this Saturday 27th October and the group are looking forward to the input of the public to make this an enjoyable event to remember.
